A popular Westside pub is inviting customers to take part in a new karaoke evening that involves singing with a live band.
The monthly ‘Bandaoke’ event at The Brasshouse was launched in October and we went along to the third evening on 23 December to find out more. You can watch our video of the evening here:
‘Bandaoke’ refers to the fact that it’s a band and karaoke combined, and anyone can join in for free, picking a song to sing from a list of classics.
Shannon Lewis, general manager of The Brasshouse came up with the idea. She said: “I’ve always wanted the pub to have a live band, so I asked my friend Tobias Alexander, a drummer, who put the band together.”
The Bandaoke group is known as the Duvet Cover Band, and includes Tobias on the drums, Wosely as lead vocals, Steve Sheldon on guitar and Stasys Sliauteris on bass.
The next Bandaoke evening at The Brasshouse starts at 9pm on Friday 3 February, and you can find out more via @Brasshouse.Birmingham and @duvetcoverband on Instagram.
