Tributes have been paid to the former manager of one of Westside’s leading nightclubs who has died in a road accident.
Robbie Mills had been general manager of Rosies Birmingham on Broad Street before leaving last year to take up a similar post in Worcestershire.
It is understood that Mr Mills, aged 49, was killed in a head-on collision between his car and another vehicle in Shropshire at around 7pm on Friday 2 December.
West Mercia Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses to the accident which happened on the A5 near Chirk.
They reported that a 49-year-old man, who was driving a Nissan Juke, sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Nissan Qashqai, was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Rosies said: “We are all deeply saddened to hear of the tragic death of Mr Mills and we send our heartfelt condolences to his friends and family.”
Mike Olley, general manager of Westside BID, said: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Robbie who was a much-respected member of the Broad Street family during his time here. We extend our deepest sympathy to his friends and family at this tragic time.”
It is understood that Mr Mills was working at a late-night venue in Worcester, and was living in the Shrewsbury area.
Rosies Birmingham, which opened on Broad Street in August 2017, has just completed a £1 million refurbishment.
