COMPETITION: see who managed to hang on to the BOX bar the longest to win £500 bar tab

Brindleyplace has been buzzing in the last few days – and not just because of the sunshine.

A £500 bar tab was up for grabs for the person who could hang onto a bar for the longest to mark the opening of the new BOX sports bar this Saturday 3 June. Watch the fun here:

There were wrigglers, there were danglers, there were gym bunnies and there were have-a-go heroes … but the eventual winner was local bartender O’Troy who managed an impressive one minute and twenty seconds.

Anna Cosgrove, business development manager at BOX, said: “We’ve had lots of people signing up, from children right through to adults.”

Ms Cosgrove explained that the new BOX venue was predominantly a sports bar, with 32 screens for customers to watch their favourite matches.

But she added that BOX would also be providing games and a karaoke room, with live bands on Fridays and Saturdays, and a ‘Bandaoke’ night on Thursdays where customers could perform on stage.

Luisa Huggins, communications manager at Westside BID, said: “We are so excited to be welcoming BOX to Westside, which we feel will be a wonderful addition to the many diverse venues we have on offer.”
