REVIEW: all eyes on Westside as Strictly’s sell-out tour took centre stage

The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour 2024 was an unmissable live evening on Westside, filled with glitz, glam and out-of-this-world dancing.

Eight thousand people anxiously gathered at Westside’s Utilita Arena to watch the nation’s favourite dance show on Friday 19 January 19, and they were in for a treat.

Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and the Queen of Latin Shirley Ballas judged the 2023 competitors as they performed a series of dances to win the Birmingham Glitterball, voted by guests on the night.

The cast performed a range of iconic dances, including: Cha cha cha, Quickstep, Charleston, Argentine tango and Quickstep.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Shirley Ballas complimented one of the routines by saying: “That was phenomenal – like you’ve eaten a technique book. I applaud you.”

The lucky winners who won the Birmingham glitter ball on the night were Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin.

Luisa Huggins, media and communications manager at Westside BID, said: “It was a treat to be invited to such a glamorous event. The show was incredible, and it was such a lovely atmosphere. And the team at the Utilita Arena were so helpful.

“The experience with the Amplify Hospitality was out of this world – it’s such a great experience.

“The food and drinks were stunning, and I strongly advise people to look on the Utilita website and book for some of their excellent upcoming shows.”
