A festive, food-filled Christmas awaits visitors to two of Birmingham’s finest restaurants located within Brindleyplace.
As well as tantalising new Christmas menus, the two Asian restaurants are also promising to ring in the New Year in style with special cocktails and bites.
Together, Lulu Wild, situated at The Water’s Edge, and Siamais in Oozells Square, provide a wide variety of Asian culinary delights.
Lulu Wild Chinese restaurant has certainly gone ‘wild’ this Christmas by tempting diners with five set menus to choose from.
First up is their ‘Diamond’ menu with a starter of Duck Bao Buns doused in hoisin, chilli and char sui sauce, followed by a main dish of Shredded Chicken Noodles paired with chia seeds, edamame puree, peppers and onions, and rounded off with a dessert of baked chocolate crumble, drizzled with salted caramel sauce and accompanied by Ficus fruit.
The ‘Ruby’ menu starts with a Chicken and Pork Dim Sum Basket before moving onto a Mongolian Lamb Shank with chilli soya and jasmine rice and finishing with a Chocolate Orchid dessert and Lulu’s homemade vanilla bean custard.
Seafood lovers will enjoy the ‘Pearl’ menu consisting of a Prawn and Scallop Siu Mai mix to start, followed by Lobster Gojuyang with light soya sauce, served with Chinese sausage fried rice and, for dessert, the Thousand Layers of Delight featuring a puff pastry, homemade vanilla custard and ice blasted raspberries.
The ‘Emerald’ menu provides a vegan option with Pak Choi and Cristal Veg Dim Sum Mix to start, followed by a noodle dish accompanied with Wui Wor Vegetables and ending with a mango pudding featuring tapioca pearls, grapefruit and mango sorbet.
Saving the best till last is the extravagant ‘Opal’ menu with Pork belly and Chinese Sausage Bao Buns, followed by a premium Wagyu Sirloin Steak with General Tso Sauce, honey and Korean chili paste, served with egg fried rice.
If Thai food is your preference, then celebrate Christmas Siamais style with the restaurant offering a festive three-course set menu.
For seafood lovers, start with Prawn Cakes in a panko breadcrumb, drizzled with a sweet chilli dressing, or a Salmon Skewer coated with a satay sauce. For mains, there is the steamed Sea Bass in a homemade sweet and sour sauce and jasmine rice.
Alternatively, diners can try the Grilled Chicken Skewers, marinated in herbs and ground pepper and served with a peanut sauce to start, followed by a choice of Chargrilled Lamb, Golden Pork Belly or a Thai twist on a Surf and Turf, all served with jasmine rice.
Vegetarian and vegan options include a Vegetable Tom Yum Soup and a classic Thai Green Curry, while for all the menus the desserts range from Coconut Sticky Rice to a Homemade Chocolate Brownie for those with a sweet tooth.
For larger parties, Siamais has a banqueting menu ideal for tables of eight guests or more with a choice of three menus.
