Westside BID’s new well-being events get off to a healthy start

More than half a dozen workers enjoyed the first in a new series of well-being events organised by Westside BID this week.

The ‘Be kind to your mind’ programme, launched to coincide with International Fitness Day on Wednesday 20 September, began with a virtual Tabata workout by Coaches for Change founder Jamie Cullen, with the help of Harriette Luscombe doing the demonstrations.

The next virtual event is taking place on Wednesday 27 September when attendees can expect to enjoy a relaxing Pilates workout, again with Harriette Luscombe.

The ‘Be kind to your mind programme’ will then be rounded off by an in-person event, the first one being an invitation to the Lego Land Discovery Centre at 4.30pm on Thursday 5 October.

The mindful Lego session will see participants undergo a series of exercises aimed at de-stressing, followed by a short film in the 4D cinema and a fun experience on the Kingdom Quest ride.

Luisa Huggins, media and communications manager at Westside BID, said: “The weekly events are proving to be successful and the organisers are optimistic that they will leave staff on Westside feeling good.

“We are delighted to be in a position to offer all staff on Westside a diverse range of well-being events. We believe that it’s essential for people to access this kind of support, so it’s an honour to support our colleagues.”
