Several of Westside’s leading restaurants are taking part in a Birmingham-wide festival aimed at showcasing all that is good about the city’s dining scene.
The Birmingham Restaurant Festival, which is only in its second year, launches this tomorrow (28 July) and continues until 27 August.
The event has attracted 37 eateries from across the whole of Birmingham, with almost a third of them situated on Westside.
Throughout the course of the month-long festival, each of the participating restaurants will creates a great value set menu for customers to enjoy.

Five of the participating Westside venues can be found in Brindleyplace. They are;
- Lulu Wild, a Chinese restaurant and cocktail bar based at The Water’s Edge, which was voted Hospitality Venue of the Year at the 2022 City of Birmingham Business Awards.
- Qavali, Brindleyplace, an Indo-Persian restaurant and whisky bar offering a range of cocktails alongside flavourful dishes.
- Recess Lounge & Bar at the Hilton Garden Inn, Brunswick Square, which is also home to an al fresco terrace with outdoor heating.
- Siamais, a Thai restaurant and cocktail bar based in Oozells Street, Brindleyplace.
- The Alchemist, at The Water’s Edge, offering a cocktail and dining experience overlooking the canal, and voted Best Newcomer at The Westside Awards, 2021.
Westside is also represented in the restaurant festival by two eateries at nearby Gas Street Basin.They are;
- Bistro Pierre in Gas Street, which offers French fusion dishes freshly prepared by their expert chefs daily.
- Noel’s Bar & Restaurant in Waterfront Walk, described as a modern bar and restaurant bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to the Midlands.
Each of the restaurants will be presenting a special set menu during the festival, with details on their page of the official website.
Festival founder and director Alex Nicholson-Evans said: “Over the years, Birmingham has been named as one of the top food destinations in the UK, and with good reason, the city boasts a diverse and vibrant dining scene.
“Birmingham Restaurant Festival is a celebration of Birmingham’s dining scene and showcase of the fantastic restaurants across the city!
“This year we are partnering with Birmingham Festival 23 and extending the festival to a whole month! We’re really excited to be joining forces with the official anniversary festival of the Commonwealth Games to celebrate Birmingham’s award-winning restaurant scene.”

Natalja Bulgakova, general manager of Noel’s Bar & Restaurant, which opened nearly four years ago, said: “This is the first time we have participated in the festival because we decided to shout out about our great food and drink.
“Our festival menus have been designed to offer the best value in order to entice customers to try our Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with its mixture of Greek, Spanish, Italian and French cuisine.”
