The Lord Mayor of Birmingham invited all managers and chairs of the city’s business improvement districts (BIDs) to a working breakfast this week.
Councillor Chaman Lal, a Labour politician who took the oath for the role of Lord Mayor last month, has represented his ward of Soho & Jewellery Quarter since 1994
Mike Olley, general manager of Westside BID, was one of the BID bosses who met Cllr Lal in the Lord Mayors parlour on Tuesday 27 June.
Mr Olley said: “It was a pleasure to meet the new Lord Mayor in his parlour and to discuss the important links between the council and the city’s BIDs.
“Cllr Lal was himself a director of Soho Road BID for many years and so it was very refreshing to hear his insightful views.
“He offered his support and best wishes for all BIDs, and we look forward to him visiting Westside as Lord Mayor in the near future.”
