Jamie Sherwood, the manager at Cineworld Birmingham on Broad Street, has shared his views on Jordan Peele’s new movie Nope.
Nope, which came out on 12 August, is the latest film by American director Peele, already renowned for his films Get Out (2017) and Us (2019).
Jamie said Nope follows the story of a character who tries to prove the existence of aliens, but that it has an important underlying message about the treatment of animals in filmmaking.
He said the movie was different to Peele’s previous films, due to its sci-fi nature, but that what was a thriller also had elements of humour.
Jamie praised Peele’s ability to create strong themes and open-ended storylines that keep the audience guessing and questioning the plot.
The Cineworld manager also shared details on the upcoming films in September, including:
• Three Thousand Years of Longing, out on 2 September
• Bodies Bodies Bodies, 2 September
• Smile, 30 September, and
• Moonage Daydream, 16 September.
