A range of hospitality jobs are currently available on Westside at the nationally-acclaimed International Convention Centre (ICC).
The new starters will play a key role in the Conservative Party Conference at the ICC in October, to be addressed by either Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss, one of whom will then be the party’s new leader and the UK’s new prime minister.
The coveted jobs are all being offered by Amadeus, the NEC Group’s in-house caterer, which operates at venues comprising the ICC, NEC, Utilita Arena Birmingham and Resorts World Arena.
The senior opportunities available at the ICC are for a food and beverage manager, a cellar team leader, a hospitality team leader, and a conference and banqueting manager.
The closing date for job applications is 31 August, apart from the food and beverage manager, which has an earlier deadline of 30 July.
The NEC Group said it had a range of “exciting” opportunities within its multi award-winning caterers, Amadeus.
A common requirement for the jobs being advertised is a “passion for success, creative flair, and strong leadership skills” as well as “adaptability” working across multi venues from retail to hospitality in the case of a couple of the roles.
One of the key requirements of the food and beverage manager is to play a leading role in the operation of the catering department at the ICC focusing on standards, finance and health and safety.
The cellar team leader will be responsible for the stock, managing and delivering drink supplies for various events.
Previous experience in cellar and bar stock management is said to be a “must”, while a fork lift licence is preferable.
Both the new hospitality team leader and conference and banqueting manager will be expected to create “memorable food moments and dining experiences”, as well as ensuring that the highest standard of food safety is adhered to.
They will also have to work alongside likeminded individuals who have food and customer service “at their heart”.
In addition to the four senior jobs, Amadeus is also seeking people for its retail and hospitality team to work in the city centre and NEC venues.
One is for a front of house hospitality team member and the other for a back of house team member responsible for cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards.
