Mark Gribben, the owner of Ethos Flowers on Brindleyplace, has been using one of Westside BID’s e-cargos trikes to make his flower deliveries.
Westside BID was given two of these trikes for businesses in the area to use after Birmingham City Council purchased 13 e-cargo bikes and 7 e-cargo trikes in a scheme funded by the Department for Transport.
The BID filmed Mark pedalling from his shop to The Dentist At Liberty Place on Sheepcote Street. Mark, who normally uses a van to transport his goods, says he really enjoyed riding the trike and believes it is more eco-friendly.

Mike Olley, general manager at Westside BID, said: “We want to encourage businesses to become more involved with greener transport and these e-cargo trikes have many benefits that are friendly to the environment.
“They have zero emissions, which means they reduce congestion as well as resulting in lower fuel costs for businesses that use them.”
Any business who wants to use one of the BID’s trikes should call a Westside BID warden on 07537 918512 or email Westside BID media assistant Danielle Robinson at danielle.robinson@westsidebid.co.uk.
