America singer-songwriter Ashanti coming to Westside as part of UK tour

Grammy award winner Ashanti is playing at the Birmingham Utilita Arena on Wednesday 1 June as part of a four-date tour across the UK.

The American singer-songwriter’s summer tour will mark the 20th anniversary of her debut album and worldwide single Foolish.

Ashanti, who also has concerts in London, Leeds and Manchester, will be joined by two big names in R&B: Trey Songz and Mario.

The star’s return to the UK after years is highly anticipated by her listeners who will be hoping to hear songs such as Rock Wit U and Only U, as well as Foolish.

Since making her mark on the R&B scene 20 years ago, Ashanti has released six studio albums and sold 15 million records worldwide.

Her self-titled debut album Ashanti is well known for breaking the global record for achieving the highest first-week sales for a debut female artist.

Since her rise to stardom, the singer has won a number of rewards including a Grammy, eight Billboard Awards, two American Music Awards, two Soul Train Awards, and six ASCAP Awards.

Trey Songz is expected to play some of his greatest songs live, like Bottom’s Up, Say Aah, and Heart Attack, while Mario’s performance is almost certain to include Let me Love you.

2022 UK tour dates:

  • 29 May, OVO Arena Wembley, London
  • 31 May, First Direct Arena Leeds
  • 1 June, Utilita Arena, Birmingham
  • 2 June, AO Arena, Manchester
