Jasper stands up and rocks at Peaky Blinders premiere on Westside

Top comedian Jasper Carrott looked the part in his full-length black leather coat at the premiere of Peaky Blinders series 6 at Cineworld Broad Street.

The event last night (Thursday) took what is the concluding series right back to where it all began more than eight years ago, as the first Peaky Blinders premiere was held at the same cinema back in September 2013.

Jasper was joined by Mike Olley, general manager of Westside BID, who said: “Jasper and I enjoyed what was a powerful, impacting first episode in the new series. It’s premiering on BBC TV this Sunday so we’re going to be watching it again and we can’t wait.”

Plenty of stars from the show joined Peaky Blinders creator Steve Knight at the Premiere, including Sophie Rundle (who plays Ada Shelby), Finn Cole (Michael Gray), Harry Kirton (Finn Shelby) and Ned Dennehy (Uncle Charlie) and Charlene McKenna (Captain Swing).

Others attending included Katie Phillips (Linda Shelby), Daryl McCormack (Isiah Jesus), Natasha O’Keefe (Lizzie Shelby) and Benjamin Zephaniah (Jeremiah Jesus).

Three hundred lucky fans picked from 50,000 applicants also got the treat of attending the red-carpet screening.

Mr Olley added: “It was a wonderful event, and I was thrilled to hear from Peaky Blinder’s creator Steven Knight at the Q&A afterwards that while this is the last TV series there are plans for a film.  Again, I can’t wait.”
