Spider-man, Spider-man … Westside does whatever a spider can!

Do you remember how much we all loved dressing up as our favourite superheroes?

Birmingham student Matthew certainly does, and at the age of 19 he’s still at it … pleasing the crowds at one of Westside’s top cinemas in his Spider-man outfit!

Matthew, who’s currently studying at Birmingham City University, decided to live out his boyhood dream at the launch of the latest Spider-man film at the ODEON Luxe Birmingham Broadway Plaza.

Matthew said: “I’ve always loved Spider-man, and from when I was a little boy I’ve been dressing up as him, running around the living room, pretending to be able to climb all over the walls.

“So when I got the chance to actually be a Spider-man stand-in for a day, I jumped – literally – at the opportunity.

“Spider-man: No Way Home is a great watch, and it felt so special to be seeing the film while dressed as my boyhood hero!”

Matthew got the chance to spin his web thanks to mum Elaine Weir, the business liaison manager at Westside BID.

Elaine said: “We are always keen to do things that promote our venues, and when I realised the latest Spider-man film was coming I just knew Matthew would love the chance to play a part.

“People coming to see the film just loved the chance to get their pictures taken with Spider-man himself, and it was great to see Matthew making everyone’s day that bit more enjoyable.

“The main thing we want to highlight is how the ODEON Luxe Birmingham Broadway Plaza is one of the very best cinemas in the UK, with its luxury seating and fabulous staff.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is screened multiple times a day on eight screens at ODEON Luxe Birmingham Broadway Plaza, where every seat is a luxury recliner.

The film is running every day until at least 30 December. To book, visit: https://www.odeon.co.uk/cinemas/birmingham-broadway-plaza/
