Westside’s latest hospitality venue has opened its doors in style with a lavish launch party.
Heidi’s Bier Bar, which has taken on more than 50 staff at the 1,100-capacity venue in Broad Street, welcomed its first customers last Friday (27 June).
Leisure operator REKOM has invested £1.5 million to transform the former Bierkeller site into an après ski-themed bar, and it certainly looks like money well spent.
Heidi’s in Broad Street, the first to open in England, sets out to create an authentic après ski atmosphere along the lines of the first such venue which opened in Denmark nearly 20 years ago.
It operates over two floors with various nods to the ski theme, including rows of skis on the upper level, while the bar staff and hosts are dressed in traditional Scandinavian outfits.
The ground floor includes a large dance area, which manager Karina Sparks and some of her staff took to during the launch party, with a separate adjacent zone where customers can dance on tables.
Heidi’s also boasts a karaoke stage, bars, and plenty of seating areas throughout, while the seven days a week venue also offers metre-long pizzas, live music, bingo, and a DJ to add to the party feel.
Karina, who returns to Birmingham after almost a year away, said she was “extremely excited” at the prospect of managing Heidi’s and creating a terrific party venue.
