Get creative: free event for Westside’s hospitality businesses

Westside’s hospitality businesses have been invited to attend a free webinar to help them to work with the creative industry in the post-Covid world

The GBSLEP Growth Hub and Birmingham City University have jointly organised the event on Wednesday 27 April which features experts from around the region. These include:

  • Tony Elvin of Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull, who will be talking about how the hospitality sector has had to become creative.
  • Javier Miranda, founder and managing director of Studio Victoria, presenting virtual reality for hospitality, with price points and examples.
  • Nicola Richardson of Vortex Creates who has developed some clever customer-focused displays for theatres, galleries and outdoor events.
  • B.D. Dalton, strategic director of Rockfine Group, will be provide the context for attendees and highlighting commercial opportunities.

A spokesperson for GBSLEP Growth Hub said: “The last two years have been a challenge of astronomical proportions, so congratulations if your business survived!

“The hospitality sector has been hit particularly hard during the global pandemic and incorporating some clever skills from the creative sector could be just the ‘easy win’ you need to get back on track.

“We are all dreaming of how to do something completely different to create a fantastic experience and outstanding quality for our customers.

“Hospitality companies are already incorporating creative products – perpetual tickets for events using NFTs, virtual event experiences incorporating VR headsets, sensory experiences for fine dining and interactive musical lessons and concerts.

“Do you want to find out what hospitality and other industries are doing to set themselves apart?

“Do you have a product that can create that wow factor, even before the customers come in?

“Or do you want to learn how to ‘build’ magnets that pull in an attract the aspirations and tug at the heart strings of your ideal customers?

“If you attend, you might get a spark of inspiration about how a short movie, an app or even a virtual reality experience can capture a new client or build a client for life.”

On the day, the experts will join a panel discussion and Q&A session to provide practical ideas, contacts and how to take the next steps on planning new ideas.

This webinar runs from 3 to 5pm on 27 April and is fully funded but places are limited, so to secure a booking business should visit: https://eventpilot.evolutive.co.uk/confirmation.aspx?siteid=19&ContactNo=1994&Email=steve.dysonmedia@gmail.com&EventNo=244012&staff=503&Attending=true.
