The Crescent WILL go the ball as live theatre returns to Westside

Live theatre returns to Westside for the first time in 15 months when the Crescent on Sheepcote Street stages Cinderella from 26 June to 1 July.

The cast of local volunteer actors includes Rachel Chima as Cinderella, Joanne Brookes as Lucile, Amy Findlay as Lisette, Michaela Redican as the Step Mother and Ollie Jones as the Prince and Pat Dixon-Dale is the Fairy Godmother.

Katie Goldhawk, marketing manager at the Crescent, said: “For many families and audience members, that first trip back to the theatre will be a heady mix of emotions.

“In staging Cinderella, the Crescent hopes to welcome them back to the wonder of live theatre.

“Pithy, charming, and full of joyful energy, this production will take a well-worn story and inject a sense of fun and playfulness into its tired tropes. Exquisite costuming will add to the spectacle.”

The set designer is Keith Harris, with costumes by Pat Brown and Vera Dean, sound design by Finn Ractliffe and lighting by Charlie Powell.

Cinderella will run at 7.30pm each evening from 26 June to 1 July, with a 2.30pm matinée on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets cost £12:00, or £10 for under 16s, and can be booked on 0121 643 5858 or by emailing boxoffice@crescent-theatre.co.uk. Visit www.crescent-theatre.co.uk for more details.
