A dozen bars and restaurants with outdoor spaces across Westside are busy making final preparations for reopening to customers from the week starting Monday 12 April.
Non-essential shops, a gym, barbers and a family favourite entertainment centre are also getting ready to welcome back new customers.
Hospitality venues at the forefront of reopening outdoor spaces from 12 April with careful health and safety measures in place, include:
- All Bar One, Brindleyplace
- Bank Birmingham, Brindleypace
- Craft Dining, Brindleyplace entrance to ICC (from Friday 16 April)
- The Figure of Eight, Broad Street
- The Canal House, Bridge Street
- The Park Regis’s Garden Terrace, top end of Broad Street
- The Hilton Garden Inn’s outdoor terrace, Brindleyplace
- Velvet Music Rooms, Broad Street
- Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), Brindleyplace
- Las Iguanas, Brindleyplace
- Nuffield Health, Broadway plaza,
- Pitcher & Piano, Brindleyplace
- Varanasi, Broad Street,
- Siamais, Brindleyplace,
- Frankie and Benny’s, Broadwayplaza
- The Distillery, Sheepcote Street,
- Coyote Ugly, Broad Street.

Meanwhile, in the retail sector, both Ethos Flowers at 2 Brunswick Street, Brindleyplace and Lee Longlands home furnishings store will opening their doors on Monday 12 April, with the Rock Up climbing centre in Broadway Plaza also reopening.
On the health and fitness site, the Bannatyne Health Club in Brindleyplace also opens on 12 April, along with The Gentleman Barbers, also in Brindleyplace.
Ryan Doyle, director of sales at Park Regis, said: “The team at Park Regis can’t wait to welcome you back!
“With step 2 of the roadmap fast approaching and outdoor hospitality returning we have invested in our chic 1565 Terrace, bringing you a beautifully lit space serving a new menu and an extensive list of drinks.
“We can’t guarantee the weather but bring a blanket, brolly or sun cream and we will guarantee you a wonderful time.”
Mr Doyle added: “Our employee and guest welfare is paramount and we were delighted to be amongst the first venues to receive the Quality in Tourism ‘Safe, Clean and Legal’ accreditation, which focuses on standards of hygiene and cleanliness as well as COVID-19 protocols.”
Luisa Huggins, media and communications manager at Westside BID, said: “I’m thrilled to see the initial reopening of several Westside businesses from 12 April.
“All Westside businesses have done an incredible job of maintaining brand awareness and functioning in the best possible way, but they are now so pleased that doors will be reopening very soon.
“Over the last few months, we have witnessed venues implementing a range of safety measures and procedures, so I am confident that they will be reopening in accordance with government guidance, to keep customers safe.”
Ms Huggins added: “As a whole area, the morale has lifted now a road map to emerging from lockdown has been revealed, and we are counting down the days to the 12 April and then hopefully the 17 May landmark dates.”
