A special event in honour of hard-working NHS staff will see groups of people happily ‘climbing the wall’ on Westside.
Rock Up, the UK’s leading fun family climbing company, is hosting its ‘NHS Thank You Free Climb Event’ on Monday 24 August at its various UK locations, including Broadway Plaza Birmingham.
The free climbing event was aimed exclusively at NHS workers and their families to say a huge thank you for the incredible work they did and continue to do during the coronavirus pandemic.
After announcing the scheme, all spaces were snapped up at Rock Up’s seven locations in just a few hours. The venues have only just re-opened following months of lockdown.
Mark de Quervain, sales and marketing director for Rock Up, said: “We felt offering NHS staff and their families this free event was the least we could do to say thank you.
“It’s time for them to have mountains of fun with us after months of incredible hard and stressful work they’ve done, often enduring very long hours away from their families and loved ones.
“We’re delighted that the event has had a huge, positive and immediate response and we look forward to seeing everyone enjoying themselves with our teams across the country on Monday 24 August.”
Rock Up is an indoor climbing experience offering fun for thrill seekers of all ages, from pre-school to pensioners.
Each location, like Broadway Plaza, has a fun climbing arena, and a café serving coffee and fresh food. There are also indoor soft play areas, although these are currently closed due to government guidelines.
Other venues range from Hull and Sheffield to Watford.
