Westside BID Expands Poppy Appeal with New Visible Remembrance Points

This year, the Westside BID poppy appeal has been given a fresh visible boost, with additional displays now placed along Broad Street and on the iconic Black Sabbath Bench. These new locations reinforce the campaign’s presence at the heart of the district and underscore the community’s collective commitment to remembrance.

The Black Sabbath Bench and parts of Broad Street were chosen to further engage staff, visitors and businesses—creating accessible and prominent points where the symbol of remembrance is clearly visible.

Businesses, bars, restaurants and other venues throughout Westside are invited to join the appeal by displaying poppies and supporting fundraising efforts. All funds raised are pledged to the Royal British Legion — Britain’s leading armedforces charity — which last year provided expert advice, practical support, and welfare services to thousands of veterans, serving personnel and their families.

If your business or communal space would like additional poppies for display or fundraising, please contact Elaine Weir, Business Liaison at Westside BID, at: elaine.weir@westsidebid.co.uk
