Get ready, Birmingham! The city is about to be transformed into a dazzling spectacle as the Birmingham Light Festival is in full swing, bringing four nights of light, art, and creativity to the heart of the city.
From the 19th to the 22nd of February 2025, the streets of Birmingham will glow like never before, showcasing a spectacular array of light installations spread across key areas of the city centre. It’s time to experience Birmingham’s vibrant pulse in a new way.
This exciting festival promises to brighten the city’s dark winter nights and illuminate the incredible creativity that makes Birmingham so special.

The festival is an initiative of the City Curator Project, a role fully funded by Colmore BID. The event has been made possible by the combined efforts and full support of all five city-centre BIDs, with OPUS serving as the event producers. The festival results from a collaborative partnership between local businesses, community leaders, and creative innovators working together to transform Birmingham’s city centre into a stunning display of light, art, and culture.
Media and communications manager of Westside BID Luisa Huggins said:
“As you walk through the city, you’ll be mesmerised by installations that bring some of Birmingham’s most iconic landmarks to life. From the bustling Centenary Square to the historic Jewellery Quarter, each area will feature unique light art, creating an enchanting atmosphere perfect for taking photos and enjoying the city’s architectural beauty under a whole new glow.
It’s the perfect activity for family and friends, and we are overjoyed to partner with neighbouring BIDs on such an exciting project.”
