Businesses on Westside are preparing for one of its biggest football nights in recent memory as Aston Villa supporters descend into the city for Wednesday’s major European clash.
Bars and venues across the district are extending drinks offers, opening dedicated screening areas and preparing for crowds expected to build hours before kick-off.
At Barbra’s Bier Haus, the upstairs floor will become a match-night fan zone, with screens surrounding the room to give supporters uninterrupted views of the game. The venue will have a DJ from 10pm onwards and karaoke after the game finishes. Barbra’s 4pm–8pm Happy Hour includes £5 beer steins, £20 beer towers and cocktail towers, alongside two-foot pizzas for £10.

Boom Battle Bar is combining live football with its trademark party atmosphere, offering £10 meal deals, £5 drinks and 2-for-1 cocktails ahead of kick-off. Fans downloading the venue’s app can also claim a free house drink.

Meanwhile, BOX is positioning itself as one of the city’s main viewing destinations, with 24 giant screens showing the match live. Seated areas have already sold out, with standing bookings now being taken. A £7 ticket includes a premium drinks voucher.

Further down Broad Street, Rosies will host a free-entry Villa screening event from 6pm, before celebrations move into Popworld’s late-night afterparty, which runs until 3am.

A major Aston Villa FC fan park experience will also be taking place at the Utilita Arena with the venue hosting a large-scale AVFC takeover screening for supporters. The event will transform the arena into a stadium-style atmosphere, featuring giant screens, live DJ sets, and much more, bringing thousands of Villa fans together in the city centre on matchday.
