As the festive season approaches, Westside BID is inviting local businesses and professionals to take a step back from the seasonal pressures of work and life with its latest Lunch and Learn session, “The Season of Giving (Without Giving Yourself Away)”.
Led by Harriette Luscombe, Westside BIDs Wellness Consultant, the session will explore how to set healthy boundaries during one of the busiest times of the year, helping people protect their wellbeing while continuing to support colleagues, clients and loved ones.
The session is part of Westside BIDs popular Lunch and Learn series, developed to provide local businesses and professionals with accessible learning, wellbeing and development opportunities that fit within the working day.
December is traditionally a time for generosity, celebration and connection, but it can also bring mounting demands on time and energy. From meeting client expectations and supporting colleagues to managing family commitments, the pressure to say yes to everything can leave people feeling exhausted before the new year even begins.

Titled The Season of Giving (Without Giving Yourself Away), the practical session will examine why boundaries can become harder to maintain during the festive period, exploring the roles of guilt, urgency and the temptation to make exceptions when workloads increase. Attendees will also be encouraged to reflect on their own limits and set realistic expectations for what they can reasonably achieve.
Festive light refreshments will be provided, giving attendees the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed lunch-and-learn experience while connecting with others from the local business community.
