Birmingham Light Festival is set to illuminate the city once again from 12–15 February 2026, unveiling a full programme of striking light installations, live performances and special events across city streets, squares and public spaces.
Now in its second year, the festival will transform Birmingham into an open-air gallery, featuring new temporary artworks by internationally renowned and local artists. Highlights include fire-led performance FORGED at Bullring; large-scale installations across Victoria Square, Mailbox, Brindleyplace and the Jewellery Quarter; and immersive works exploring love, playfulness and climate change, including Luke Jerram’s powerful Tipping Point at Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
Returning favourites such as the silent disco will appear in Victoria Square, which is guaranteed to be a firm favourite again.
Alongside the artworks, more than 50 festival events will take place, from guided runs and dog walks to lantern processions, night markets and themed food, drink and cocktail specials across the city.
Led by City Curator Alex Nicholson-Evans and produced by OPUS, the festival is supported by partners across Birmingham, aiming to brighten winter nights and invite visitors to rediscover the city.
