Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre welcomed local knitting group Knit & Knatter for an afternoon of crafting and community spirit as part of IHG’s Giving for Good Month.
Based at Chelmsley Wood Library, Knit & Knatter was formed in 2020/21 after a previous local knitting club closed due to a lack of funding.
Since then, the group has gone from strength to strength, creating everything from post box toppers and blankets to tiny hats and jumpers for premature babies. Members also make blankets for dementia care homes and winter accessories for people experiencing homelessness.
The group relies on donated wool and welcomes new members.
A Crowne Plaza spokesperson said:
“It was a pleasure to support such a lovely local group and to see first-hand the time, care and kindness they put into their work for the wider community.
“Thank you to Knit & Knatter for letting us be part of their Tuesday afternoon.”
Giving for Good Month takes place across IHG hotels every September, supporting charities, communities and good causes.
