Broadway Plaza Brings Back Free Urban Beach for Summer

Families in Birmingham can once again enjoy a taste of the seaside in the heart of the city as Broadway Plaza’s popular Urban Beach returns for the summer holidays.

Following a successful debut last year, the free attraction will run daily from 18th July to 7th September, between 9.30am and 6pm, offering children aged eight and under the chance to dig, build sandcastles and play in a safe, beach-themed environment.

No booking is required, allowing families to drop in at any time throughout the day. To celebrate the launch, free face painting will also be available on Saturday 19th  July from 12pm to 4pm.

Broadway Plaza’s mix of family attractions, including ODEON cinema, Hollywood Bowl and Rock Up, makes it easy to turn a visit to the Urban Beach into a full day out.

Chris Catford, Broadway Plaza Centre Manager, said:

“We’re excited to be bringing our Urban Beach back for another summer after such a fantastic response last year. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the space together, and we’re excited to welcome even more visitors this year. It’s a great opportunity for children to enjoy some classic seaside fun for free, while parents can make the most of everything else Broadway Plaza has to offer for a brilliant family day out.”

The venue will also host a Super Saturday event on 22nd August, with further details to be announced.
