Westside BID has launched a major deep-cleaning initiative along the full length of Broad Street in partnership with specialist cleaning company Ramora, actioning promises made in the business plan.
The operation got underway on the evening of Tuesday 30th June 2026, with a dedicated team, beginning work outside HSBC before progressing along Broad Street towards the start of Gas Street.
Using specialist equipment, the enhanced clean removes built-up dirt and grime, as well as stubborn chewing gum, discarded cigarette butts and other litter that can accumulate in busy public spaces.
The enhanced deep clean forms part of Westside BID’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a high-quality environment across the district and improving the appearance of one of Birmingham’s busiest leisure and business destinations.

Elaine Weir Business Liaison Manager said:
“Working with Ramora allows us to deliver a deeper level of cleaning to keep Westside looking its best. We’re committed to investing in initiatives that make a real difference for our businesses and everyone who lives, works and visits the district.”
The initiative is another example of Westside BID responding directly to the priorities of its business community, investing in projects that enhance the public realm and support the continued success of the district.
