Westside BID hosted a lively St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Baskerville House on Tuesday 17th March 2026, featuring an energetic one-hour performance by Irish band The Hurling Boys.
The band played a mix of traditional Irish tunes and contemporary favourites, filling the office space with festive cheer. Employees tapped their feet, joined in singing, and enjoyed a break from their workday with the spirited performance thanks to the Westside Business Improvement District.
Business Liaison Manager from Westside BID Elaine Weir said:
“The performance was part of a broader effort to bring the community together and celebrate cultural events in the heart of the city.”
Lyle Bignon, NTE Ambassador and Music Consultant added:
“Birmingham’s story cannot be told without its Irish community — generations who built, powered and shaped the city’s streets, industries and identity with resilience, pride and cultural richness. From the post-war years to today, that influence lives on in our music, our hospitality and our sense of community.
St Patrick’s Day isn’t just a celebration; it’s a recognition of that enduring contribution — a moment for Birmingham to honour its shared heritage, its diversity, and the deep-rooted connections that continue to define who we are as a city.”

For those wanting to keep the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations going, head to O’Neill’s Broad Street, just a short stroll away. Enjoy pints, lively music, and more festive cheer to continue the fun well into the evening.
