Birmingham is set for a lively end to March as Brindleyplace hosts two back-to-back cultural events in Oozells Square, blending contemporary music with a vibrant celebration of spring.
On Sunday 22nd March, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group will take to the square for a free outdoor performance from 3pm to 4pm. Widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading contemporary ensembles, the group has built a reputation for championing new music and emerging composers. Their appearance in such a public setting reflects a broader push to make experimental and modern classical music more accessible beyond traditional concert halls.
A week later, on Sunday 29th March, the annual Brindleyplace Cherry Blossom Day runs from 12 pm to 4 pm. Highlights include a Makers Market, indoor Japanese Market, National Trust cherry blossom trail and windsock making, live music from the Cat Davis Trio, art activities at Ikon Gallery, and plenty of food.
Both events celebrate creativity, community, and the arrival of spring in the heart of Birmingham.
