You just gotta laugh! Comedy shows have returned to Westside

After more than 18 months of Covid-19, we all need a laugh. And Westside business leader MIKE OLLEY got just that when he enjoyed a night out at the Just the Tonic comedy club.

Broad Street is just what you think it is: a great night out fuelled with fun, foolery, with prospects and propositions of love.

But comedy is also a clear and solid part of its foundations. I took a night out at Just the Tonic comedy club, deep inside Rosies on Broad Street, with my old pal (and Westside videographer) Jas Sansi. And what a night it was!

The formula is simple: you get a compere, they introduce three acts, and you fall around, sides-a-splitting, cheered to the gills and having an excellent night out.

Why on earth anyone sits at the front is beyond me. Top tip: if you are in the front row, just laugh at everything that comes your way. No room in that position for your modern day sensitive snowflakes.

Jas also had a great night and he got to meet and interview top comic Reginald D. Hunter. Incidentally, he got to interview him not once but twice as he forgot to press ‘record’ the first time round.

Jas: was you having a laugh…?!

You can listen to the interview with Reginald D. Hunter, interspersed with clips from his performance, here: https://youtu.be/zbCpktznUNU
