Sharna Walker: ‘vulnerable’ racist’s sentencing adjourned to December

The sentencing of the woman who has already admitted the racial abuse of a door supervisor on Westside was today adjourned until December.

The Birmingham Mail has reported that the case was reopened at the city’s magistrates court for a short hearing this afternoon, but Walker was not present and her absence was excused.

The judge hearing the case described Walker as a “vulnerable person” and ordered a pre-sentence report to be produced for the sentencing.

He said that while Walker was charged with “serious matters” he wanted “all the available information” and that there was “no guarantee” to the outcome.

He explained that the mental health issues meant the case should be listed in front of a district judge and that it should be dealt with “sooner rather than later”.

He extended her unconditional bail until the next hearing on 13 December.

Walker, 25, of Woodhouse Close, Worcester, was videoed pushing door supervisor Tristan Price after he had denied her entry to the Figure of Eight pub on Broad Street.

She was heard using racial slurs and seen spitting as she walked away from the venue in the 22 May incident, which went viral on social media.

Walker has previously pleaded guilty to a charges of racially aggravated assault and criminal damage.
