Broadway Plaza Brings the Beach to Birmingham: A Free Summer Escape for Kids

Looking for a family-friendly escape this summer without the hassle of travel? Look no further than Broadway Plaza, where the city is getting a beachy makeover. From the 25th July – 6th September, between 9:30am and 6:00pm daily, families can enjoy a slice of the seaside right in the heart of the city — and the best part? It’s completely free for children aged 8 and under.

Chris Catford, Broadway Plaza Centre Manager, says:

“We’re extremely excited to be introducing the Broadway Plaza Beach for the summer holidays. It’s the perfect spot to bring the kids and have a bit of chill time.

Broadway Plaza has everything a family needs for an awesome day out this school holiday.

We’ve created the beach to give something back to our customers, so we hope you enjoy it.”

Whether you’re swinging by after breakfast or planning a full day out, the Urban Beach is a no-fuss, ticket-free zone. No booking required — just show up and let the fun unfold.

The event is ideal for families looking to enjoy summer activities without venturing far. Plus, with Broadway Plaza’s nearby eateries, cafes, and entertainment options, there’s plenty for parents to enjoy too.

So pack your sunhat, grab a towel, and head to Broadway Plaza for an unforgettable day— no car journeys, no queues, just good old-fashioned beach fun.
