As we welcome the bright and blooming days of spring, Westside BID is gearing up for an exciting and impactful initiative throughout the month of May – a district-wide spring-cleaning effort. This operation is not just about tidying up; it’s about maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and fostering a more welcoming, vibrant environment for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
The cleaning operation is about ensuring that high standards are maintained throughout the year. By addressing and tackling potential cleanliness issues head-on, Westside BID is working hard to keep the district looking its best, no matter the season.

The spring-cleaning initiative is far from a one-size-fits-all approach. It involves a series of meticulous tasks, each aimed at different aspects of the district.
The first litter pick is due to take place on:
Date: Wednesday 30th April 2025
Time: 10:00-12:00
Location: Quayside Tower, 252-260 Broad Street, B1 2 HF
Light Refreshments: Papillon Café & Restaurant, 154 Broad Street, B15 1DT
The team will be out to gather any litter that may have accumulated in high-traffic areas. The goal is to ensure that the district remains inviting, free from debris, and looking its best in addition to services provided by Birmingham City Council.
During the spring-cleaning month, Westside Wardens will be focusing on the removal of any unwanted graffiti, ensuring that the district remains visually appealing and welcoming for all.

Business Liaison Manager Elaine Weir said:
“It’s been great to see families, visiting Westside over the easter season. We are dedicated to keeping the area clean and inviting for everyone who lives, works, or visits the city. Our role is to provide added value, complementing the cleaning efforts led by Birmingham City Council. We encourage our members to take part in our litter picking events—by working together, we can ensure Westside continues to shine all year round.”
