Brummie rock legend Jeff Lynne is to make a special Westside appearance as part of a final UK tour of his band ELO.
Jeff, the co-founder and now sole member of the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), will bring The Over and Out UK Tour 2025 to Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on Saturday 5 July next year.
News of the Westside show, and a second appearance in Manchester, follows the announcement that Jeff Lynne’s ELO will headline London’s BST Hyde Park Festival next summer.
Jeff, who along with ELO bandmates Roy Wood and Bev Bevan was inducted onto the Broad Street Walk of Stars, co-founded the band in Birmingham in 1970. He then went on to achieve a string of hits including Evil Woman, Livin’ Thing, Telephone Line, Mr. Blue Sky, and Don’t Bring Me Down.
The singer-songwriter later went on to become a successful record producer while also continuing to perform as Jeff Lynne’s ELO, which saw sold-out UK and European tours and chart-topping albums.
ELO was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, while Jeff, who also co-founded The Travelling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, achieved solo recognition when he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last year.
The band, renowned for their epic live shows and distinct style, has had more than 20 Top 40 Hits across the US and the UK. helping them to sell more than 50 million records worldwide.
Now, more than 50 years after their founding in Birmingham, Jeff Lynne’s ELO will return to play one last hometown show next July.
