There is something about the night time that really appeals to enthusiastic photographer Meetu Varshney.
And that has earned her a place in this year’s Westside BID calendar for the month of October.
It is the second time that mother-of-two Meetu has appeared in the annual calendar.
And it was the £75 voucher that she received for her 2023 photo success that directly resulted in her latest calendar appearance just over 12 months later.
Meetu, 41, from Northampton, has also turned her hobby into a profession since her photo of the canal at Brindleyplace one evening appeared in the 2023 BID calendar for August.
She said: “I used the £75 voucher I received last time to take the family to a restaurant in Brindleyplace last November and, while I was there, I took this photo of Central Square. I was really pleased when I learnt that I had won again.”
Meetu, who has two sons aged five and ten, and previously lived in Birmingham, added: “I like to visit the city centre in the evening.”
Having previously worked in IT and banking, she took up photography as a hobby when her first son was born a decade ago.
“I was able to give myself more and more time to explore it as a hobby, and was always looking for something nice to take a picture of.
“But during the last 12 months, since I appeared in last year’s BID calendar, I have been taking pictures professionally, mainly weddings and family shoots.”
