A popular street market is returning to Brindleyplace to signal the impending arrival of summer.
Brindley Market will once again be setting its stall in Central Square with a range of goodies for visitors to browse and buy, commencing on Thursday 30 May.
And this year the market is partnering with catering consultancy Caterly, which currently runs a successful weekly lunch club at Birmingham Business Park as well as daily clubs at businesses across the country.
Brindley Market, which has been operating in Brindleyplace for around 20 years, will take place on the last Thursday of the month, starting on 30 May and continuing through until September.
Visitors can visit the market between 11.30am and 2.30pm, with around 12 to 15 stalls expected for this month’s opening market, although this is due to increase at subsequent events.
A wide variety of items will be on display at the monthly markets, including an array of delicacies from local suppliers such as fresh bread and pastries, baked goods, cheeses and meats. There will also be a range of arts and crafts, and jewellery for people to browse.
In addition to the monthly Brindley Market on Thursdays, there will also be a new ‘street food Wednesday’, known as ‘Brindley Eats’, which will take place on the second Wednesday of the month, starting on Wednesday 12 June. It will also be held from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
Brindley Eats will consist of two street-food caterers and a ‘Wellness Wagon’ ready to serve visitors a fresh and tasty lunch. Each event will feature different offerings inspired by cuisines from across the globe, from India to the Caribbean, alongside an equally tasty but healthier option.
A spokesperson for the events said: “We are excited to welcome Caterly to Brindleyplace and look forward to them bringing the monthly market and new ‘Brindley Eats’ to the estate.
“The Brindleyplace market and Brindley Eats are a fantastic way to get outside and spend a lunch time supporting local businesses and meeting new people.”
