Top volunteer opportunities on Westside’s canals, streets and squares

If you’re keen on helping out the local area and have a little time on your hands, there are two great opportunities here on Westside.

You could help visitors see the city differently as a volunteer for Roundhouse Birmingham’s kayaking trips, as part of the charity’s welcome team or on its city heritage tours.

A Roundhouse spokesperson said: “Whether you’re a lover of the outdoors, enjoy talking to people or have an interest in heritage, there’s a role here for you.”

Anyone interested can sign up for an open day. Learn more about the roles here.

Meanwhile, the Canal & River Trust is also keen to welcome new volunteers who would like to gain new skills and lend a hand along the city’s great canal network.

Anyone interested can find out more at welcome sessions. Find out when and where here.
