Activate! Christmas tree helps to light up Arena Central

The Westside area is increasingly basking in the warm glow of Christmas with every passing day.

And joining in the festive spirit for the very first time is the Arena Central development, which has erected this splendid Christmas tree as part of its colourful decorations. Watch our video all about the tree here:

The estate’s managing agents say the Christmas decorations are part of a programme aimed at creating a community feel among its occupiers.

Arena Central, which was previously dominated by the ATV Studios, is now home to prestigious commercial office developments such as Alpha Works, HSBC UK bank, and the HMRC regional hub. Also there is the Crowne Plaza hotel and the University of Birmingham’s Exchange building, which houses a cafe, exhibition and conference spaces.

David Pardoe, the place activation manager for property management company Colliers, said: “This is the very first time we have had Christmas decorations at Arena, and I am pleased to say they look very good. The Christmas tree and lights are part of our strategy to develop a sense of community on the estate.

“We had live performances this summer and are now looking to work with the occupiers on further developing that community feeling with an exciting events programme for next year around wellness, and seasonal calendar opportunities such as Remembrance.”

Colliers work with the Kier Group, who are the owners of Arena Central, on managing the estate, such as cleaning and security, and are close partners of Westside BID.

Elaine Weir, business liaison manager at Westside BID, said: “It’s great to see how a lovely Christmas tree has transformed Arena Central to Christmas. It’s a great example of how properties and space that are well looked after can be enjoy by everyone.”
