Netflix sensation Ashley Walters to appear at Pryzm on Westside

Crime drama enthusiasts in Birmingham are in for a thrill with the much-anticipated appearance of a Netflix star on Westside.

Ashley Walters featured in all five series of Top Boy, which became a Netflix sensation when it was first aired on the channel in 2019.

And the illustrious actor is now about to make an intimate appearance on Westside when he stars in an exclusive evening at Pryzm on Broad Street tomorrow (Friday 1 December).

The night to remember, which is presented by ShowFighter, in partnership with BXT OFF Events and TLG Group, starts at 5.30pm and includes a sumptuous meal, plus a rare opportunity to capture a 6′ x 9′ professional photograph alongside Ashley Walters to provide a cherished memento of the extraordinary experience.

Top Boy, which was first screened over two series on Channel 4 in 2011 and 2013, is a crime drama set on the fictional Summerhouse estate in the London borough of Hackney. It focuses on two drug dealers, one of them called Dushane Hill, played by Ashley Walters, along with others involved with drug dealing and gang violence in the capital.

The TV drama, which totalled 32 episodes, was dropped by Channel 4 in 2014 but later revived by Netflix, with a third and fourth series premiered in 2019 and 2022, followed by a fifth and final instalment which aired earlier this year.

The evening at Pryzm promises to serve as an exuberant tribute to Ashley Walters’ illustrious career, which also includes his musical time as a member of So Solid Crew, who achieved a chart-topping hit with “21 Seconds”.

His pivotal role in Top Boy will take centre stage as fans delve into his inspiring journey during an unscripted on-stage interview. The audience can also expect to be enthralled by live performances from the cream of the British music scene, comedic brilliance, and surprise appearances from luminaries in the music and film industry.

Fans also have the opportunity to obtain a special ‘after-party’ ticket which will feature electrifying performances by some of the UK’s most legendary artists, including Bushkin of Heartless Crew, Romeo of So Solid Crew with DJ Dandaman, Maxwell D of Pay as you go Cartel, and DJ Sollie from Flex FM.
