Christmas themed quiz night at the Prince of Wales early next month

A local community group is running a Christmas themed general knowledge quiz next month at the Prince of Wales pub on Cambridge Street, behind the ICC on Westside.

Entry costs just £2 per person and the quiz starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday 5 December.

The general knowledge quiz started earlier this year and regularly gets great turnouts of teams who compete for cash prizes, with any profits from the night going to the Ladywood History Group.

Norman Bartlam is one of the leaders of the history group, which jointly runs events with the closely associated TNT, otherwise known as The News Team community interest company.

Norman is both a local history and sports buff, with several books to his name including The Little Book of Birmingham, Broad Street Birmingham and several titles on Ladywood itself.

Norman said: “I’ve started doing a fortnightly quiz for the Prince of Wales pub, bringing in a few bob to the pub and helping raise funds for Ladywood History Group. Bring a team or join with others when you get here!”

Anyone who fancies getting a team together can find out more details by contacting Norman at info@tntnews.co.uk.
