Water Festivals returns to Westside from this Sunday at the Canal House

The Canal House on Westside is once again hosting regular Water Festivals from this weekend after the success of the events last year.

The free festivals on The Canal House’s terrace will see some of the UK’s finest DJs and artists performing for guests and passers-by, starting this Sunday 30 April.

Our reporter Luisa Huggins caught up with Liam Hughes, general manager of The Canal House, to find out more. Luisa asked: “Can you share the dates for the Water Festivals and explain what guests can expect to experience at The Canal House?”

Liam said: “The Waterfront Festival dates start this Sunday 30 April and will then be back on Sunday 7 May, Sunday 28 May,Saturday 24 June, Saturday 29 July and Sunday 27 August.

“People can join us for our live music festival on our sunny terrace – it’s free entry, no ticket needed, just rock up and enjoy live music from talented artists from 12 noon until late.

“There will be live DJ intervals, flowing drinks from three bars, and a delicious new food menu.

“Those attending can enjoy a mixture of music genres including rock, pop, soul, R&B, funk, disco and blues, with live acts taking to our stage throughout the day for a summer like no other.

“Bring the family or friendship group for a day of live entertainment and delicious food and drinks.”

Luisa, who is media and communications manager at Westside BID, asked: “What atmosphere does it create?”

Liam said: “An exhilarating day full of plenty of captivating live music and entertainment, showcasing a stunning venue to Birmingham and beyond!”

Luisa added: “The Canal House is a gorgeous venue sitting right next to the canal on Westside, making it a lovely destination for family and friends to enjoy quality food and service.

“The Water Festival sounds like it will be a great event, and I’m sure it will be a real success.”

The Canal House, formerly The James Brindley venue, is at 12 Bridge Street and overlooks Gas Street Basin. More details about the venue are at www.thecanalhouse.uk.com.
