They will be dancing in the street on Westside as the magic of ‘Strictly’ comes to Symphony Hall with three separate live shows over the coming weeks.
Fans of the hit BBC series Strictly Come Dancing, which first aired on our screens in 2004, are being offered three opportunities to see some of the stars of the dance floors over the course of just nine days.
First up at the B:Music venue in Centenary Square is Firedance on Friday 31 March which features Strictly stars Gorka Marquez and Karen Hauer.
They will be joined by a cast of dazzling dancers, mesmerising fire specialists and a live band as they perform a new show inspired by Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Carmen and West Side Story.
This will feature an exciting mix of Latin, rock and pop music from artists such as J.Lo, Gregory Porter and the Gypsy Kings.
This is followed at Symphony Hall by Once Upon a Time on Tuesday 4 April, described as “a fairy tale like no other”. Once Upon a Time is the brand-new dance show starring Strictly superstars Nadiya and Kai, appearing for the first time on stage together.

The lavish production, which features a cast of dancers and musicians, highlights their different backgrounds, from childhood dancers to ballroom and Latin champions, both becoming TV stars, while also celebrating their wonderful relationship on and off the dance floor.
The final act in the Strictly trilogy of shows sees Giovanni Pernice bring his Made In Italy show to Westside on Saturday 8 April. The Strictly Come Dancing champion of 2021 has been a professional dancer on the show since 2015, reaching the programme’s final three times before finally lifting the glitter ball two years ago with celebrity partner, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Strictly’s first ever deaf contestant.
Giovanni will be joined by some of the best dancers and singers from the ballroom and theatre world, including his leading lady, Birmingham’s own Lauren Oakley. Other dancers include Pasquale La Rocca, who has won Dancing with the Stars four times in a row.
This Italian-themed show features an incredible sound track, stunning choreography and beautiful costumes.
