New senior team to take Westside sales venture into the future

An expanding venues marketing partnership in the heart of Westside has unveiled a new senior team as it continues its development.

Unique Venues Birmingham (UVB) is a commercial venture between The Rep theatre and The Library of Birmingham.

It launched just five years ago as a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham Repertory Theatre Ltd, jointly governed by The Rep and Birmingham City Council. Since then, it has hosted 2,681 events and welcomed 42,924 delegates, as well as winning a number of awards.

Suzanna Reid Barreiro da Silva, who has been at the helm of UVB since the start, has stepped up to take the director’s chair, having been promoted to commercial director of The Rep.

She said: “UVB is in my DNA, and now taking on the responsibility of The Rep’s other entities, I am confident I will take the business to new heights and support The Rep in its aims for the community.”

Sarah Millington, who has also been at UVB since 2017, takes on the role of business development director.

She commented: “The opportunity to now take a step up, and lead the sales team, alongside working with Suzanna to introduce new venues into the UVB portfolio is something I am really looking forward to, continuing to grow our business and the UVB brand.”

Joanne Jenkinson is the newcomer completing the senior team, joining as hospitality director.

Joanne, who has a wealth of experience in events delivery, food and beverage, said: “I have worked in the hospitality industry throughout my career and it is exciting to join UVB as the portfolio grows and to support Suzanna overseeing The Rep Café and Bar since its refurbishment earlier this year.

“We have great expectations for our teams to continue to deliver the unique customer experience for which the venue is renowned.”

One of UVB’s new contracts is to deliver interim sales and marketing services to the Alexander Stadium. For more details about UVB, visit: http://www.uniquevenuesbirmingham.com/
