A new airborne video showing off the beauty of Westside has been filmed to help welcome visitors to the area this summer.
The fly-through style footage starts with an birds’ eye view of the Gas Street Basin, continuing to Centenary Square, showing off The Exchange, the Library of Birmingham, the REP Theatre and HSBC’s headquarters.

Other footage in the 80-second film includes views of the canalside next to Brindleyplace, the Popworld nightclub, the Cineworld venue, the Park Regis Hotel and various new tower blocks in and around Broad Street’s ‘golden mile’.
Mike Olley, general manager of Westside BID, said: “This birds’ eye view of Westside is truly inspirational and is yet another tool we will be using to show off the district to visitors.
“It’s crucial that we continue to explore various ways to promote the area given all the attention Birmingham will receive from visitors this summer, including al the athletes, VIPs and spectators in the city for the Commonwealth Games.”
