WOWs 2022: Westside BID calls for nominations for district’s top awards

The Wonders of Westside are back! And this time, following various virtual events during in lockdown, winners will be picking up their awards in person.

Westside BID is now calling for nominations for the popular awards – otherwise known as the WOWs – which honour the best nightlife venues and staff in and around Birmingham’s ‘golden mile’.

The WOWs award ceremony will then take place at Rosie’s nightclub on Broad Street on 30 January 2022.

Elaine Weir, business liaison manager at Westside BID, said: “Following the success of the virtual WOWs and the Westside Excellence awards, we are delighted to be hosting the first 2022 awards event at a live venue.

“We now want our members to nominate their favourite bars, restaurants, hotels, other entertainment venues and staff so that our judges can decide on the winners.

“We will then be thrilled to welcome the district’s best venues and staff to celebrate the WOWs with us on 30 January 2022.

“This is one of the highlights of the year for many businesses, so we are looking forward to seeing our members face-to-face celebrating their success together.”

Luisa Huggins, media manager at Westside BID, added: “We want to start 2022 on a high, especially with it being the Commonwealth year for the city.

“We are going for a theme of Hollywood glamour at the awards, so we look forward to seeing all of our members dolled up, suited and booted and ready for a good night out”.
