Police investigating an armed robbery of a man’s Rolex outside a restaurant in Brindleyplace have arrested a man.
The victims, Mohammed Miah and his wife Yasmin, both aged 24, were celebrating their third wedding anniversary at the Las Iguanas restaurant on 23 June when the robbery happened.
Mr Miah had his £15,000 Rolex watch stolen during the incident in which he also suffered an injury to his hand.
The robbery was carried out by four masked men, one of them believed to be armed with a machete.
A suspect was arrested during the summer months, and has since been bailed pending further enquiries, but police have only revealed details today.
A statement from West Midlands Police said: “A 23-year-old man was arrested on 14 July on suspicion of robbery, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and burglary.
“He has been released on bail while we carry out a more detailed investigation.
“He has got a curfew and can’t talk to certain people or visit certain places while on bail.”
The suspect has not been charged at this stage.
