New Alchemist bar creates 55 jobs on Westside

More than 50 jobs were created when the latest Alchemist cocktail bar and restaurant opened on Brindley Place.

The venue on The Water’s Edge follows the success of the premium food, drink and music venue elsewhere in the city, including the popular Colmore Row branch.

John Paul, senior general manager of the Alchemist in both Colmore Row and Brindley Place, said: “During the three years since we opened in Colmore Row, we’ve been nominated for multiple awards and so wanted to create another venue in Brindley Place for the partygoing customers.

“The Brindley Place site opened in the summer of 2019 creating 55 jobs and has proven to be great addition to the bars and restaurants currently existing in the area.”

The Alchemist is well known for the creative presentation of its drinks with smoke arising from the glasses and fire displays while making tropical cocktails.

Mr Paul added: “We have something to offer for everyone! The Colmore Row site was originally a more corporate venue and popular amongst workers in the city. However the Brindley Place branch wants to differentiate from that by being a premium location for a night out.

“We have a big, gold-plated masterclass table in the middle of the venue and a stage area for a DJ on a Saturdays and live music on Sundays.”
